Privacy Policy

This policy describes what Datify collects about you, why, and your rights over that information. Last updated 2026-05-06.

1. Who we are

For the purposes of this policy, the data controller is Handitech Lime Solutions Ltd, Reg. No. BN308300325, Ablekuma, Accra. For data-protection questions reach us at support@handitechlime.com.

2. What we collect

  • Account information. Name, email, phone number, and a hashed password.
  • Transaction data. Purchases you make (network, plan, recipient phone number, amount, timestamp, status), and wallet ledger entries.
  • Payment data. Top-ups are processed by Paystack. We receive a transaction reference, status, and the amount — not your full card or mobile-money credentials.
  • API usage. If you use our reseller API: key identifier, request endpoint, response status, and timestamps.
  • Technical data. Server logs (IP address, user-agent, request paths) for security and debugging.

3. Why we use it

  • To deliver bundles you request and run your wallet.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
  • To send transactional notifications (purchase confirmations, refunds, security alerts).
  • To respond to your support requests.
  • To comply with legal obligations (tax, anti-money-laundering, lawful requests).

4. Sharing

We share data only with:

  • Upstream carriers — the recipient phone number and plan, so the bundle can be delivered.
  • Paystack — to process top-ups.
  • Infrastructure providers (hosting, error tracking, email) under contracts that restrict their use of the data to serving us.
  • Authorities when compelled by valid legal process.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. How long we keep it

Account and transaction records are retained for at least 6 years after account closure to satisfy tax and audit requirements. Server logs are retained for 90 days by default. Paystack retains payment records under its own policy.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • Access the data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information (most fields are editable in Settings).
  • Delete your account, subject to retention obligations above.
  • Export your transaction history (also available as CSV from Transactions).

7. Security

Passwords are hashed (never stored in plain text). API keys are stored as hashes — the full key is shown only once at creation. Transport is encrypted with TLS. We restrict access to production data to staff who need it.

No system is perfectly secure. If you suspect your account has been compromised, contact us immediately and revoke any active API keys at /api-keys.

8. Cookies & tracking

We use a small number of first-party cookies for session management (so you stay logged in) and basic, privacy-respecting analytics. We don't use advertising trackers or run third-party ad pixels.

9. Children

Datify is not intended for users under 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes

We'll update this policy when our practices change. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-product notice.
